"So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers"....Acts 16:5
It's all about God....If we want to be the church that God created us to be and to make the good difference in the lives of others that God wants us to make, then we too must be about God. This is the message of the Acts 16:5 initiative - to help the church as a single body and the individuals who make up that body to be able to recognize, nurture and share the good news in relational ministry. This outreach initiative is Presbyterian in origin and thus reformed. NOW is the time to sign up - registration for this ministry will close on November 1, 2009. Please notify Sandy Sharpe at ssharpe@foothillspresbytery.org or Rusty Benton at rbenton@gcpc.net of your interest in participating in this ministry. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Rusty Benton at the email address above. Significant funding assistance will be provided for all participating churches by the Congregational Transformation Team and Foothills Presbytery. |

The Presbytery welcomed Ingrid Reneau and Rev. Orozu Daky last week as part of the denomination's World Mission Challenge. Ingrid is a Presbyterian Church mission worker in the South Sudan with an emphasis on training teachers. Pastor Orozu is a pastor in the Sudan Presbyterian Church. South Sudan was decimated by a 21-year civil war which ended in 2005. The faithful efforts of the South Sudanese Christians to rebuild their land and their schools with the help of the church is the story they shared as they visited at several churches in the presbytery and at a Furman student meeting. After their visit here, they traveled to Trinity Presbytery, a partner presbytery. |
