The Magnetic Church Evangelism
Conference |
|
|
|
The Congregational Health and Growth Team of Foothills
Presbytery would like to call your attention to an evangelism
conference that is being held at Harrington Center Auditorium
at Columbia Seminary. The dates for the conference are Friday
evening, October 13 and Saturday, October 14. This conference,
The Magnetic Church, is a non- confrontational,
practical evangelism event to help mainline and similar
churches attract and retain new members. It will be presented
by Andrew D. Weeks, author of Welcome! Tools and Techniques
for New Member Ministry, published by The Alban Institute.
Weeks is a gifted lay evangelist and humorous, inspiring
speaker who created this PowerPoint presentation to involve
skeptics, stimulate activists and engage the curious - to help
everyone learn more about new member ministry. Participants
will learn scores of practical evangelism ideas that can be
initiated immediately.
Others have said...."The presentation is lively and fun
with more new ideas and creativity than I could ever have
imagined. It went far beyond our initial expectations."
Churches are encouraged to send members with different
interests - communications, property, hospitality, finance,
greeters - Each group is asked to bring a copy of a
newsletter, welcome brochure/visitor form, contact letters,
and bulletin.
Registration should be completed by October 1. The fee is
$35 per person. A registration form can be downloaded from the
Foothills Presbytery website. Please let Minnie Sue Douglas,
Chair of Congregational Health and Growth Team, know if you
plan to attend. She may be reached at msdouglas@juno.com or
864-878-4053. Contact Minnie Sue also if you have questions
about the conference. |
